Whilst some staff were wonderful and the location was central, a faulty fire alarm that required 4 evacuations within 2 days (with a small baby) meant the stay was not entirely pleasurable.

We were disappointed to hear that the swimming pool was pretty cool, so didn't have a swim.
No luggage rack in room for suitcases.
Dust visible in room. Excellent location close to Princes Street and the castle.

My only complaint would be the tourist shop across the road place a bagpipe cd on a loop really early in the morning and throughout the day!!

Excellent location and staff very helpful. Only criticism is the price of breakfast 12.95 is too much. I usualy stay in the radisson and the quality of their breakfast is much superior to this for the same price.

A small coffe shop called 'Always Sunday' is a five minute walk and serves excellent coffe and brunch

Fantastic location to all the sights of Edinburgh. Very clean and staff were very friendly and most helpful.
Top Tip
Great pubs on the Royal Mile most of which have live music. Tass pub is authentic and has a gig guide for live music 7 days a week. Must walk up Arthurs Seat views awesome. Mary Kings close a must see attraction as well as the Castle. Brave the steps up the Walter Scott monument too!

Booked premier rooms and expected better, original not acceptable but was shown another and this was fine. Generally the hotel was looking a little tired, especially the leisure facilities.
Top Tip
Try VooDoo Rooms for a good atmosphere and you must go to Fishers in the City on Thistle St, fab food and service, could not fault it.
