Our Review
The George Hotel offers you the chance to stay amid the Georgian splendour of Edinburgh’s New Town, yet still be close to Princes Street, the Castle and the Royal Mile. The hotel’s Grade II-listed façade has been impeccably preserved and inside there is a wonderful air of contemporary chic – thanks to a recent multi-million pound refurbishment.
Boasting one of the most prestigious locations in Scotland’s capital, the George Hotel is situated in the heart of the city, taking prime position on elegant George Street – known as the “Bond Street” of Scotland. The Grade II listed building with its distinctive façade was designed over two hundred years ago and many of the original architectural details have been carefully retained. The property offers 199 en suite guestrooms, decorated in warm tones of aubergine and taupe, complemented by elegant furnishings. Many of the rooms boast outstanding views of Edinburgh or the Firth of Forth, while some even enjoy Castle views. Serving the finest locally sourced ingredients fused with a contemporary twist, the newly opened Tempus Restaurant and Bar provides a relaxed, informal dining environment, enhanced by pre-Raphaelite-style paintings, wooden floors and soft lighting. The bar is open all day, serving coffees and pastries from 7.00am onwards.
