Lovely hotel and excellent location for being close to shops and night life. No parking facilities at this hotel make it an expensive option when having to access local car park. Breakfast lovely and service excellent. Gym or Pool would make this hotel even better.
Top Tip
Lots of lovely places to eat and drink all within walking distance of this hotel. If you love wine la de vin is excellent vinters.

Just one fault, there was no prior warning on booking that this hotel is none smoking, also there was not any proper facility provided for smokers when it was raining. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable stay.

Perfect for access to tour buses and shopping.Restaurants/bars on the doorstep. If you want air conditioned room you should request in advance as not all rooms have this. Our room was at the back of the hotel and we did find the bottle emptying into the wheelie bin below our window noisy, particularly as there were three weddings in three days!
Top Tip
Tour buses from Waverley Bridge are excellent way of seeing the main attractions and you can jump off/on as you wish.Very frequent service.

Unfortunately the room allocated (311) was a very unpleastant room. No ventallation, and I meean no ventallation other than under the door!
Having stayed at the George previously this was a major disappointment. Hotel is an excellent location for visiting Edinbrugh for the first time.

I booked this hotel for my daughter and son in law as a suprise.
They loved the hotel until they had breakfast. My son in law found 2 long hairs in the scrambled egg it made him feel quite sick. They were offered a bottle of wine as compensation.I dont feel that was good compensation for such a first class hotel.I was very anoyed as I paid for the hotel as a special suprise for them.
