hotel was absolutely gorgeous, staff were friendly, and genuinely couldn't have done enough to help us and make our stay more comfortable. Only problem and it wasn't much of one was that room was a little small, other than that it would be a pleasure to stay in the Hudson again.
Top Tip
just around corner from Princes Street if shopping interests travellers and some lovely bars including the hotel bar/nightclub,where again the staff were most helpful.

1.
Lights in bedroom far too dim,
I know that we are all trying to save the 'planet' but surely the fact that the lights are operated by using keyfob, thereby you are unable to leave them on when you are out of the room, should be enough.
2.
The lack of a separate Dining Room caused a problem, as the bar was very very busy and despite the fact that we requested a particular table, and indeed confirmed three times that it was reserved for us, it was not. With the result, that after much ado we ended up at a small table in the corner, with the most uncomfortable small backless stools to sit on, and just to add to our misery, the X Factor was blasting out on the TV.

Lunch: Fish Finger Sandwich - was ok but it really should be served on nice soft white bread.
