Lovely and v. Central. Been several times before but not happy with room, overlooking the Front and a bar! so noisey. + T.V. not working. Staff weren't interested!
Top Tip
So much to do within walking distance.

We had trouble communicating with your reception staff - need some training. Overall an excellent hotel and would recommend this hotel to friends.

Reading the web site 'user ratings' for this hotel we almost booked somewhere else -but we decided to give it a shot! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room fine, well kitted out, spotless and a decent size. (Had asked for a higher level room in case of street noise - didn't hear a thing). Brilliant, full scottish, 'pig yourself out' buffet breakfast. Staff everywhere courteous, friendly and helpful. NB. Big tip for visitors. When you go up to staff at the reception or elsewhere, approach them with a nice smile and a warm friendly greeting and you will get exactly the same back. They are human - just like you think you are. If you are cold, aggressive, prickly, overly demanding ..... ???

Recommended to the 'top notch' restaurant called 'The Witchery'. Forget it: Lovely, interesting place, BUT terrible service, very poor food and, of course, very pricey!!

The reception area was clean, and had 2 reception staff who seemed to be too busy to deal with us on arrival and we had to wait whilst being ignored. When the receptionist finally spoke he was friendly and efficient. The rooms require updating, with paint work being shabby. The shower was a trickle and the shower curtain pole was rusty, other than that the room was clean. The hairdryer supplied had as much power as the shower...so even if you do manage to get your hair wet you may not be able to get it dry. A great central location though with a 5 minute walk to play house and shopping centres as well as Princess Street. I would recommend the hotel due to location, the hotel could better if it was updated.

very disappointed that we did not get to stay at the hotel although we booked(party of 7) a month in advance through you!! We were sent out of town and it wasn't very convenient! We would certainly not recommend your site or the hotel as it was a let down for most of the people in the group!!

Recommend because of the location. The breakfast was a bit sparse, could have done with a wider selection of breads and fruits and cereals. By the time we came down there was not a lot left to choose from. There are no pool or leisure facilities which is a pity and the bar although very well stocked with whiskeys and wines had few non-alchohol choices.
Fantastic central location. There is also no air-con in the bedrooms, fans were too noisy and it was too warm to sleep comfortably. It was marathon weekend so prices were at a premium, compared to other hotels in this category it is poor on facilities and was not overall good value for money. Rooms had ironing boards(good)- but no fridge. Staff friendly and helpful.
