Staff were helpful enough but a bit vague when asked for any assistance.
Top Tip
We ate at the Filling Station in the Royal Mile and would certainly go back. Friendly staff, good value and food excellent.

Breakfast service needs some attention - only one coffee and toast making machine for a lot of guests. Book rooms at the back away from the pub downstairs.
Top Tip
Try Creelers for great fish and head to Stockbridge for great galleries and coffee shops.

The hotel was typical pub accomodation. Small but clean room and plenty of hot water. Adequate for the purpose but staff and premises generally scruffy. Breakfas buffet poor and expensive. Eat breakfast out for better value for money
Top Tip
Loads to do - apart from the Edinburgh festival which was great. City tour, the Castle, the Royal Yacht, Holyrood Palace etc. Plenty of good restaurants to suit all tastes and wallets!

The hotel looks great but it is a very noisy venue for big screen tv viewing and there is music etc on the site regularly. Many young people use it so it is exciting if you like that sort of thing....but if you dont then ask for a room at the back away from the noise.
